Violation on the Border

Bashar Al-Assad was selected with 97% of its people’s votes. Now he has become a tyrant. After Arab Uprising Bashar Assad didn’t step down or do any government changes. Syria once was a republic but now is ruled by dictatorship. Assad’s army killed over 9,000 people since March 21, 2011. The bombings and killings have been going on more than a year. The whole world has been telling Assad to ceasefire but he doesn’t want to negotiate.
Turkey as being on the boarder with Syria now shelters over 24,000 Syrian refugees. The refugee camps are on the Southern part of Turkey in Hatay and Gaziantep. Recently, on the 4th of April, there were attacks to the refugee camp in Gaziantep, Turkey. The troops attacked the refugee camps in response to eight rebel fighters’ attempts to escape to Turkey. The shootings wounded five people including a Turkish translator, a Turkish policeman and three Syrian refugees.
Prior to the shootings, Assad promised United Nations that the armed forces are going to stop the gunfire and going to be removed from the urban and rural areas.  The Syrian government still wants a proof that the rebel forces are going to lay down their arms to totally remove government armed forces. After Syria’s commitment to U.N., there were still 1,000 more killings that occurred all over Syria.
Turkey has been calling Syria to ceasefire along with United Nations. The recent shootings prompted Turkey’s opposition to Assad government further. There was a clear violation on the boarder. In response to the shootings Kofi Annan visited the refugee camps in Turkey to observe the situation. Even though Kofi Annan’s visit was effective in raising refugees’ voices and attracting media’s attention to Syria, it didn't intimidate Assad's armed forces. There should be immediate action taken to stop the massacre at its place, in Syria.
